Why It’s Worth It
- Enjoy a ride on carriages, crossing the Osława River multiple times, a key water boundary between the Bieszczady and the Low Beskids.
- Admire the cultural heritage of the region from the wagons, including Lemko-style cottages (chyże) and a 19th-century Orthodox church.
- Walk a gentle section of Poland’s longest hiking trail, the 519 km Main Beskid Trail! Don’t worry—our section is only 8 km.
- Visit the Duszatyn Lakes, formed in 1907 when massive landslides from Mount Chryszczata’s western slopes dammed the Olchowaty Creek, creating three picturesque lakes. Locals recall the event as “something slid down from the mountain.”
- Conclude the day with a visit to the unique Convent in Komańcza Letnisko, managed by the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth. Located in a Swiss chalet-style sanatorium building, it served as the place of internment for Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński for a year, where he penned the Jasna Góra Vows of the Polish Nation.
