- IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Decision Point: At the 5th kilometer in Solinka, participants can decide whether to continue hiking or return to the coach.
- Footwear: Sturdy hiking shoes with aggressive tread are essential. The ascent to the first peak and descent involve forest roads and unmarked trails through the wilderness.
- Return Journey: Departure back home at the end of the hike.
Trip Details
- Total Distance and Elevation: 16 km and +/- 600 m of elevation gain. Don’t worry—there’s an option to shorten the hike by half.
- Flexibility: At the 5th kilometer in Solinka, participants can choose between continuing the hike or heading back to the coach.
- Trail Conditions: Sturdy footwear is required due to challenging terrain, including steep forest paths and unmarked trails.
- Bieszczady Narrow-Gauge Railway: Enjoy a legendary ride passing the site of the non-existent village of Solinka, numerous bridges, the Polish-Slovak border, and the untamed Border Range.
- Off-Trail Ascent and Descent: Experience the wild side of the Bieszczady by summiting Matragona off-trail.
- Hidden Gems: Discover unique, less-traveled Bieszczady massifs such as Berda, Hyrlata, and Rosochy.
